SUMMARY:Animation Summer Camp Series presented by Comcast
DESCRIPTION:Creating an animation is a long and complicated process that requires several techniques and many different animators working on a single project. In order to bring the animation process to the scale of our summer camp\, we are dividing the animation process into three sections: Writing and Boarding\, Key Animation\, and Ink & Paint. By the end of these three camps\, campers will have collaborated with one another and the animation expert instructors to create a single\, 30-second animation. While this may seem like an incredibly short project for three weeks of hard work\, it shows the reality of how complex the editing process is. Sign up for any one of the phases of animation\, or sign up for all three camps to get a full picture of how animation works. \nAt the end of the summer\, we will host all campers at the Script to Screen Film Festival\, where all stages of the animation process will be screened for campers and families to see how it all comes together. \nSAVE ON MULTIPLE CAMPS\n\n2 Camps – 5% discount\n3 Camps – 10% discount\n4 Camps – 15% discount\n\nMust be purchased at the same time\, discount will appear in cart \n

SUMMARY:TV Writing I: Pre-Writing\, Story\, and Building the Puzzle with Brian Bradley (VIRTUAL)
DESCRIPTION:TV Writing I: Pre-Writing\, Story\, and Building the Puzzle introduces students to the essential first steps of developing an original television series. Focusing on process and structure\, this course guides students through a step-by-step system for organizing early ideas\, concepts\, characters\, and themes into a cohesive\, workable show concept. Through instructor-led exercises\, students will learn Building the Puzzle — a pre-writing approach that brings order to the typically chaotic early development stage\, allowing a show’s concept to emerge piece by piece\, much like assembling a jigsaw puzzle. \nStudents will also study and apply the Story Circle — a refined version of the Hero’s Journey adapted for television — learning to analyze pilot episodes and break their own pilot stories using this 8-step structure. Topics include identifying act breaks\, building tension\, and shaping compelling character arcs. \nBy the end of the course\, students will have created a show logline\, developed a Story Area document for their pilot\, completed detailed character sheets\, and established the foundation they will need to outline and write a full script in subsequent classes. This class is ideal for anyone who wants to create their own original TV series and learn professional development techniques used by working television writers. \nThis course is the first in a 3-part Series.\nThe NEXT courses in the sequence are:\n\n TV Writing II: The Outline Is Your Map (6 Weeks; VIRTUAL) – Fall 2025: October 20-November 24\, 2025\n\nThe PREREQUISTE for this course is: TV Writing I: Pre-Writing\, Story\, and Building the Puzzle\nRemember to REGISTER before this course fills! \n\n\nTV Writing III (15 Weeks; VIRTUAL) – Spring 2026: August 10-November 23\, 2026\n\nThe PREREQUISTES for this course are: TV Writing I: Pre-Writing\, Story\, and Building the Puzzle and TV Writing II: The Outline Is Your Map\n\n\n\nPlease note: Students will complete graded assignments and writing exercises and will receive instructor feedback throughout the course. As a working showrunner and television writer\, your instructor brings professional industry expertise directly into the virtual classroom. \nWHAT YOU WILL WALK AWAY WITH: \n\nA fully developed logline for your original series\nA Story Area document outlining your pilot episode\nA complete set of main character profiles\nA strong structural foundation for outlining and writing your TV pilot\nA clear understanding of professional development processes used in the industry\n\nCourse Note: No Prerequisite Required.
